Kitchener-Waterloo
Branch

Kitchener and Waterloo,
Ontario are twin cities in Canada's Technology Triangle with a combined population
approaching 350,000 people. Located about 60 miles southwest of Toronto,
Kitchener-Waterloo is a prosperous community with a diverse and robust economy;
many fine restaurants; a first-rate symphony
orchestra; two internationally renowned think tanks -- the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical
Physics and the Centre for
International Governance Innovation; the revolutionary Institute for Quantum Computing; and two leading
universities, University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier
University. The home of Research
in Motion, manufacturer of the ubiquitous BlackBerry, the city of Waterloo was named the World’s Top Intelligent Community by the
Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) on May 18, 2007 at the "Building the
Broadband Economy" annual conference in New York City.

Founded in
1987, our IW&FS Branch consists of seventeen couples. Each Member brings
something special to our group, making every event a scintillating and often
boisterous one. We are a light-hearted group, perhaps somewhat irreverent,
but we all share a love of great food, fine wine, and good company …. the true spirit of André Simon’s founding principles!
If you should
find yourself in our beautiful corner of the world, please feel free to drop by
during any of our scheduled events. Please E-mail our Branch Contact Julien Hradecky.
